Thoughts of Freedom

This spring morning as I sat outside
My thoughts turned to those who've fought and died

To keep our country free and strong

They walked into battle, and all along

Were aware that they might give away

Their families and friends if they chose to stayT

In battles and wars where they may never see

How their sacrifices gave us the right to be free

And I thought this day how blessed I've been

That I've never had to see the sights they've seen;

Never felt the pain of losing comrade and friend,

As I watched them fight until the end

While the tears I cried must be silent to prove

That with strength intact I must still move

In direction to win this battle I've fought

To be worthy of my country in each countryman's

thoughts.

Each battle, each war has brought us to be

The most powerful country in the world, so you see,

Each serviceman's life that we've seen lost

Has paid part of the price, at such a high cost,

To give us our freedom, our strength, our power

Let's not take them for granted, not for one brief hour.

A few we have known, but most we have not,

Though they all gave their lives without second thoughts

So let's honor them, each one, as we walk through our days,

And thank them with grace, for our freedom they've saved.

NEW NEWS CONCERNING THE MUSEUM:

Are you the person that we are looking for to contact local teachers to invite them to see what we have in the Museum? If teachers had a tour of the Museum, they may want to bring their students on a field trip to see the museum and learn about local history. If you are interested , please contact the President, Barbara Zianni at (724)947-9111.

****Recently, the Westminster Preschool children visited the museum in the Heritage Hall. They were able to learn about the community wayback when and seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.****

Currently the Museum is availble for tours by appointment only. Please contact Barbara Zianni to make arrangements.
